The Level 7 Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is designed for managers who have the authority and personal inspiration to translate organisational strategy into effective operational performance in the field of business and manufacturing. The Level 7 Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management has been developed to produce graduates with skills to understand logistics and supply chain management in which they operate and to align good strategic decision making to maintain their organisation’s competitive advantage.
Logistics and supply chain management brings together the business skills to manage the activities and flows of information between suppliers, manufacturers, logistics service providers, retailers, and consumers. Successful completion of this diploma will enable learners to build on their strategic management and leadership skills and to focus on the requirements of implementing the organisation’s strategy.
Entry Requirements
Candidates must hold/meet one or more of the following criteria:
- A certificate/ diploma in management studies or business management
- An equivalent professional qualification from a recognised institution.
- Mature students with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience may be considered.
- This course is designed for learners aged 19 and above.
- The provider will determine English Language ability if English is not your native language.
- IELTS 4.5 or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential.
Qualification Structure
Learners need to complete all 8 mandatory units that provide a combined total of 120 credits:
- J/618/1227 Logistics Management
- R/618/1229 Supply Chain Planning, Modelling, and Analytics
- L/618/1231 Procurement and Supply Management
- Y/618/1233 Supply Chain and Operations Strategy
- H/618/1235 Sustainable Operations Management
- T/508/0626 Business Research Methods
The qualification is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars, distance, online by approved centers only.
Duration and Delivery
The qualification is designed to be delivered over one academic year for full-time study but it is also flexible in its delivery in order to accommodate part-time and distance learning.
Assessment and Verification
All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the centre and verified by OTHM. The qualifications are criterion-referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes. To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, a learner must have successfully passed all learning outcomes for that unit.
Progression
Passing the OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management enables learners to progress into or within employment and/or continue their further study. OTHM has a progression arrangement with a number of UK universities that acknowledges the ability of learners after studying Level 7 qualifications to be considered for advanced entry into master’s top-up programs. MSc Logistics and SCM Top-up are available with the University of Chichester.
Course Material
Course materials, including presentations, handouts, assignment briefs, and e-books are made available to enrolled learners. In addition to this, the learners will also receive the course handbook and tutorial via emails, in order to support the learning.
Books
We can provide printed books for certain units and these can be ordered by the learners at the start of the course at an additional cost. These are from BPP Publishing or other publications and are discounted for enrolled learners. These are available for selected units only.
Online learning
The learner sets their own pace for their learning and the courses are offered on an academic-year basis. Although our tutors encourage the learners to make progress monthly, this approach is flexible
